<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The rapid development of modern media, digital technologies and the Global Internet, the pervasive impact of the press, films, radio and television, the industrialcommercial type of production and distribution of standardized spiritual goods are decisive factors in the spread of mass culture. Active participants and creators of mass information flows are the media. Mass information is actualized in information flows due to its availability to the masses, form simplicity, convenient consumption and transparency. Modern media are the determining factor in the formation of mass culture and it can be safely assumed that their sociocultural role will only increase as humanity moves towards the information network society. The maximally individualized options of mass culture will provide people not only with a new “modern times model”, but also with reference standards of information perception.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>современные медиа</kwd><kwd>массовая культура</kwd><kwd>массовая информация</kwd><kwd>массовое потребление</kwd><kwd>информационное общество</kwd><kwd>медиапространство</kwd><kwd>коммуникация</kwd><kwd>серийность</kwd><kwd>массовая литература</kwd><kwd>саундтрек</kwd><kwd>комьюнити</kwd><kwd>социальные сети</kwd><kwd>видеоблоги</kwd><kwd>жёлтая пресса</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>modern media</kwd><kwd>mass culture</kwd><kwd>mass information</kwd><kwd>mass consumption</kwd><kwd>information society</kwd><kwd>media space</kwd><kwd>communication</kwd><kwd>“seriality”</kwd><kwd>mass literature</kwd><kwd>soundtrack</kwd><kwd>community</kwd><kwd>social networks</kwd><kwd>video blogs</kwd><kwd>“yellow” press</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Ableev S.R., Kuzminskaya S.I.
