Освещается многообразие о трактовки понятия «общественное мнение». Анализируются различные подходы в теории общественного мнения, влияние средств массовой информации на общественное мнение, а также роль, которую играет общественное мнение в демократическом обществе. Используются научные трактаты по некоторым вопросам коммуникации, связанным с общественным мнением, представлен обзор результатов исследований ведущих специалистов. Не переведенные ранее на русский язык используемые научные источники позволяют нарастить круг подходов и точек зрения в данной области.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The paper represents a review a range of theories of the relationship between public opinion and communication, offering insight into a variety of interpretations of the term «public opinion». The authors analyze various approaches to the theory of public opinion, the influence of mass media on public opinion, as well as the role played by public opinion in a democratic society. The text employs several scientific treatises to discuss some questions of communication related to public opinion and provides a review of recent findings from research carried out by most prominent scholars.
